Home for the Weekend!

Race and I are heading down to the valley to spend the weekend with my family. I am going to relax and enjoy my birthday doing who knows what! I don't really care what we do I'm just glad to be getting away from school and work and getting to spend some time with a bunch of my favorite people {and a bunch of adorable babies}! Race sent me this picture of what I'm guessing are some birthday presents for me...I don't even know when he has had the time to go shopping! He has been working his butt off and studying like crazy all week. I hope this weekend will be relaxing for him as well.

Anyway, I am grateful for my sweet, thoughtful husband and for a weekend to relax.
I hope you all have fun this weekend and I'll see you back here next week!

Sometimes I Get Dressed

For a couple of weeks over winter break I did not get dressed AT ALL. I wore my bathrobe all day and it was wonderful (Race would disagree with that statement). Now that school and work have taken over my life I have actually had to make an effort to get up and get dressed every day. It really is a lot of work sometimes. I do know that I don't want to end up in my bathrobe for my whole pregnancy though so I am really trying to make an effort to dress cute regularly. This usually means I get my hair and makeup done and my outfit is just okay or I have a cute outfit and don't bother with my hair and makeup. Life is all about the give and take, right?

Here is an outfit from this past week that I was pretty happy with. Let me know what you think!

Breakdown:
Shirt-Target $4
Cardigan- Old Navy $3
Skirt- Forever21 $6.50
Tights- Old Navy $2
Shoes- Hand-me-downs FREE

This outfit ended up being super comfy and I loved the colors together. AND because the skirt is so stretchy it's an outfit I hope to be able to wear for a while...at least until my stomach is HUGE.

I am grateful for cute, comfy clothes that help me get off of my lazy bum in the morning and get headed out the door in style!

Have a wonderful day everyone!

Last Semester!

Race and I are officially into our last semester of our undergraduate careers! It is super exciting to be so close to being done but it is so hard to stay motivated. Just a few more months though...we can do it! I got lucky and only have two classes on campus and then two online. It makes life a bit more relaxed although still plenty busy.

We are also both working on campus and took on more hours than we had last semester but so far it's gone smoothly. I can't wait to be done in May and to figure out where we will be headed from here! We hope to be able to stay in Flagstaff for a while or at the very least until the baby comes but there is just no way of knowing what will happen. Yay for new life adventures!

Work and school are about all our lives consist of these days and that is fine with us. I'm not sure we could take on much more than that! We are excited to spend my birthday weekend in the valley with my family and hopefully do something fun. We'll see!

Before I head out for the day I thought I'd share a couple belly photos. These were taken a week ago (so at 14 weeks along). I think I'm going to start taking more legit baby bump pictures at 16 weeks along. We'll see how that goes. I want to do something cute but I haven't settled on one of the many ideas found on Pinterest. I guess you will all have to wait and see!

P.S. I'm still not super showing to anyone but me but I can tell that my stomach feels and looks a little different than it did before so I had to take a couple of pictures!

It's February!

Happy February everyone! I am excited for this month! My brother and I both have birthdays and there is of course Valentine's Day. Also, it's a Leap Year which is pretty exciting stuff! My first grade teacher was born on a Leap Year so maybe I'll try and send her a birthday card!

Now onto playing catch-up! My eight day no puking streak was broken yesterday. Three times! I hate throwing up and being sick but I am so grateful for all of the days in between (recently) when I haven't thrown up. I also know that I haven't been nearly as sick as so many other pregnant gals and I am grateful for that!

Now onto a quick pregnancy update!
  • I will be 15 weeks along tomorrow!
  • I haven't gained any weight yet. I think I'm still down a few pounds from my pre-pregnancy weight.
  • I do not throw up every day. Thank goodness!
  • I have yet to have any weird cravings. Mostly I still just want to eat lots of fresh fruits and veggies.
  • I sleep ALL the time. I go to school/work during the day and then come home and sleep in the evening for a few hours, get up for a couple of hours, and then go back to sleep for the night. It is a weird sleep schedule but it works for now. My mum said that my baby might end up on the same weird sleeping schedule when he/she is born and that might not be good but hopefully my sleeping schedule will change when Race and I graduate in May.
  • We don't know the gender for sure yet but our ultrasound tech used a technique called the "angle of the dangle" and told us she is 85% sure she knows what we are having! We aren't announcing it to the blogging world just yet so you all should take a look at our ultrasound pictures below and guess away! (I'm not sure when our next ultrasound will be and we will get to find out for sure but hopefully within the next month or so...)
  • And I think that's about it in the baby department. We don't have names picked out just yet. We have a few names we really like but ever since seeing our baby on the ultrasound I have felt like I need to research EVERY SINGLE NAME before we can make a decision. Haha. (I am always up for hearing name suggestions!)
Here are a couple adorable ultrasound pictures!

This next one is showing the "angle of the dangle" technique thing...I think.

Well, that's it for now! I need to work on schoolwork, get some food in my belly and hope it stays down, clean up the house (maybe), and take a nap! Woot! Woot!

I hope you are all having a wonderful February so far! :]
