Holland's Fifth Month in Instagrams

In conjunction with this post, here is Holland's fifth month in Instagram photos. {These are not in the right order because I am lazy!}

Holland tried rice cereal a few times this month--she's not a fan.

Holland played with her egg toys from Mimo lots.

Hanging out in the airport with Dad after flying back to Idaho from a fun AZ trip.

Holland spent time with her cousins in AZ.

Christmas with AZ cousins. Holland is lucky to have lots of adorable cousins!

Holland met her Aunt Helena's boyfriend Cory at AZ Christmas.

AZ Christmas stockings!

AZ Christmas morning

Holland waiting at the airport to meet her Uncle Angus for the first time.
He was away serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Bulgaria for the past two years!

Holland with Uncle Angus. He wasn't quite sure how to hold a baby as this is his first time meeting all six of his nieces and nephews with two more on the way!

Holland just adores her cousin Madison!

Gram and Granddad Ashby and Aunt Teal came for a visit and we all headed up to Sun Valley for a fun day in the snow!

Christmas morning in Idaho!

We went to see reindeer {they really are somewhere back there} and Holland slept the whole time.

Holland dressed up for Christmas Sunday and then proceeded to wear this outfit for the next three Sundays as well. And I made her a fancy new Christmas bow!

Another fun Christmas morning face!

This is a still shot from a video of Holland fake coughing and talking to herself. Also, she inherited her long tongue from me. Everything else is from Race!

Holland, Madison, and Aunt Teal in their matching red onesie jammies!

Holland grew up in a day! I don't know why but she just looks so grown up to me in this picture!
 I love it though!

Holland made lots of funny faces. Her personality is just showing itself so much these days!

More rice cereal trying! It looks like she really likes it but she doesn't--that's why it's all over her face!

Holland wore lots of cute outfits and jammies. Jammies might just be my favorite baby clothes!

Holland turned five months old!

I love taking photos of this cute girl! She brings me pure joy! I am so grateful for a phone that I can take photos with because I want to remember every fun stage with my cute girly!

Play Time with Holland

Now that Holland is {pretty much} sitting up by herself play time is much more exciting {and lasts a lot longer}. Here's how a typical play time looks for Holland.

Toe grabbing.

She's got to have some tongue sticking out action.

Showing Mommy her skills at holding things.

 She's got the essentials: Sophie the Giraffe and her egg toys from Mimo.
{Sophie found here and egg toys found here
although my mom found them for a smokin' deal of a whole $1.00!}

Everything goes straight to her mouth.

Showing off her gorgeous blue eyes.

Learning how to pick things up takes some intense concentration!

I'm in love with her painted toe nails and adorable chubby feet!

Just being a cutie.

Not quite related to play time but I love her pierced ears. I never thought I would get my baby's ears pierced but they are so dang cute! I'm glad I did!

Showing off her chunky belly.

And then she falls over. And looks cute.

And then we change rooms because a change of scenery keeps this baby entertained for just a bit longer.

I love play time with this sweet girl! I can't believe how fast she is growing up! I did not think she would be sitting up already! In fact a week ago I probably would have thought she wouldn't be sitting up by herself for at least a few more weeks! Gah! Time is just flying by too fast! I am absolutely loving this stage though and I am so grateful for my sweet girl! Being a mom is so hard {especially at night when Holland thinks she should get to eat nonstop} but it is the most wonderful thing I have ever experienced. I treasure every smile and giggle I get from my Holland girl! Now I've got to get back to some more play time with her!

Five Months.

Dear Holland,

I can not believe that it has been five months. I'll be honest, the first couple of months you were here went by REALLY slow. But now time is FLYING! I just want it to slow down! Your dad and I are having a blast watching you learn and grow though so I guess you can keep growing up. This month was eventful because you got to go to AZ again to see your Uncle Angus get home from his mission! You were the sixth niece/nephew that was born while he was gone and there are two more on the way. It was fun to dress all of you kids up in shirts with your names on them so that he knew who you were! It was a fun week home with the Olmstead family and you did okay on the flights. You just think that you need to be moving around all the time {at night mostly} so the flight back was a little rough. Everyone loves to see your smile though so no one got too mad at you for being so rambunctious. I am so grateful for your smiles because you are not always the easiest baby. You don't sleep much at night and refuse to go down for the night until one in the morning. Crazy girl! {We're hoping to work on the whole sleeping thing once we finally get into our own place--we're not sure when that will be just yet} You don't like to sleep too much during the day either. You definitely like to be out and about and I can tell that you just need a change of scenery a lot of the time. Hopefully when the weather gets a little warmer we can start taking you to some parks. I know that you would just love to watch the kids play!

This month your dad and I have noticed these exciting things about you:

-You fake cough and it's also kind of a laugh and it's hilarious. For the longest time we thought you were actually coughing but on Christmas day you were "coughing" all day and then laughing about it. It's pretty funny!
-You still stick your tongue out all the time. Especially when you're doing your silly fake cough.
-You like to hit your mom while you're nursing. Oh, and scratch. It's not my favorite.
-You talk to yourself a lot. I love to catch you talking to yourself or your toys. Once I took a video of you talking and then when I showed it to you you talked at the video. Pretty funny stuff! Now I just need to get a video of that!
-You somehow know when I am reading a book or using my phone while I'm nursing you and you try to turn all the way around to see what's going on.
-Your cousin Madison cracks you up. You love to watch her dance to her movies or just play. One day she was throwing a pair of your socks and then running and picking them up and you thought it was a hoot! It's so fun to watch the two of you together.
-You started grabbing your toes and trying to eat them. I didn't realize this was a "stage" kind of baby thing--I just thought some babies did it and some didn't so I was so excited when you started doing it because I think it is stinking cute!
-You have started playing with your ears. I think this is something you may have inherited from me because I have always loved playing with my ears. I think it is so cute when you just hold onto your ear while you are nursing. {But as you can see from all the bullet points above I think pretty much everything you do is really cute!}

You have been a joy in this fifth month and I look forward to this next month with you! Having you around makes your dad and I so happy!

We love you Holland girl!

Love,
Mom and Dad

Style Feature: No nonsense

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of No nonsense for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

I was so excited to be contacted by No nonsense to do a review on their comfy and stylish tights and leggings. If you know much about my style you would know that I pretty much live in leggings despite the fact that I only have one pair. And I LOVE tights--especially colorful ones! {You can check this post out to verify that!} Anyway, the point is that I love tights and leggings and would be happy wearing them every single day but I have also the dilemma of finding them for reasonable prices. I'm all about the clearance racks but the thing that stinks about clearance is that good things {like colorful tights & comfy leggings} sell out before they ever make it to the clearance racks. Well, No nonsense rushed to my aid because they have the cutest, comfiest, and most affordable leggings and tights that I have yet to find!

No nonsense tights and leggings

No nonsense sent me the corduroy leggings in Cobblestone and the textured cable tights in black. I have had these for a couple of weeks now and have incorporated them both into a bunch of outfits!

I like to wear the tights with cute dresses and heels {for church or fun holiday parties} and the leggings I wear all day every day with comfy flowy shirts, cardigans, and flats. Unfortunately I did not take pictures of my actual outfits but I did make a couple of collages on polyvore.com of about what they were composed of!

The leggings:

Comfy&Cute

These leggings are just about the most comfortable thing I've ever worn! They are perfect for toting Holland around all the time and getting up and down from the floor while playing with her, taking her in and out of the car and the stroller and the carseat, etc. They are good quality and seem like they will last despite all that they'll be up against with a baby in tow. The corduroy is so soft {after the first wash} and I hope this doesn't gross you all out when I tell you that a couple of times I ended up wearing them straight to bed after the day because they were just too comfortable to take off! The color matches with just about everything but I think I am going to have to buy some of their other colors as well because I need some of these for every day! These leggings were a little long on me {I'm about 5'1"} but I was able to just roll them up underneath and you couldn't tell the difference. I also loved that the leggings were thick enough that I wasn't showing off any underwear lines while I was out and about.

The tights:

I have now worn these tights to church a couple of times and just with a cute outfit for the day. They are opaque as you can see in the picture but I liked that they weren't super see through and they didn't feel too thin. The fabric is good quality and comfortable. Also, they have a slimming waist which is definitely a nice feature considering the whole post baby body that I'm still getting used to dressing. I love that tights keep an outfit warm but also dress it up a bit. I got the black ones with the cable knit design but you all definitely need to check out some of their other colors and designs! Black is perfect for matching lots of things but colors and designs definitely add a little something special!

Now, here are my two favorite things about No nonsense tights and leggings:

1. You can buy them in many food and drug stores as well as mass retail stores. I love this because you can grab a pair when you are picking up diapers or wipes or prescriptions or whatever and you don't have to go to the busy mall. I'm not much of a mall fan so this is a big plus for me.

2. Also, as I already mentioned No nonsense products are AFFORDABLE! I love that they are the same price as the clearance items I've had to scour the racks for! I will definitely be adding more of these items to my wardrobe!

And finally, just an interesting tidbit about No nonsense: Jill Martin {the famous television personality} is the new face of No nonsense and she is going to be featuring many outfits that incorporate No nonsense tights and leggings in normal, everyday outfits. I'm excited to see what she comes up with and I'm excited that I get to be a small part of all of this as I wear my No nonsense tights and leggings and show how they can work with the every day life of a mother!

To keep up with No nonsense you can like them on Facebook {No nonsense on Facebook}, follow them on Twitter and of course get yourself some super comfy leggings and/or tights and show off how YOU style them! They're a must have in everyone's wardrobe! {If you do get some and post about it on your blog I would love to see how you style them so comment with a link!}
